Part of our guide to hotel marketing ideas
B&B marketing for a quieter season

A quieter season needs a reason to travel that makes sense for the guest. A lower room rate alone may not explain why they should come.
B&B seasonal marketing starts with an occasion you can describe honestly. Previous guests already know the property, but their next trip still needs to fit their interests and diary.
Choose a visit you can support
Look at the services and local activities available during the period you want to promote.
Check opening dates and booking arrangements directly before naming an attraction or event. A summer photograph can create the wrong expectation for a winter visit.
Explain practical differences at the property. Guests should know if breakfast arrangements or on-site services change outside the main season.
Avoid promising an itinerary whose availability you cannot confirm. Link to the organiser's current information when customers need to book separately.
Give previous guests a useful invitation
For people who have chosen marketing, describe the reason to return and the relevant dates.
A suggested approach is: "Planning a quieter break later in the year? Our current room availability and seasonal stay information are here."
Add specific details only when they have been checked. State what any package includes and whether outside activities are part of the price.
An ongoing thank-you email can link to current stay ideas. A dated seasonal offer needs its own review and expiry process.
Introduce future stays while guests are with you
Guest Wi-Fi for hotels and B&Bs lets you put a direct booking link on the welcome page.
A current guest may be planning another visit for a different occasion. Keep the booking destination easy to find without interrupting practical stay information.
If you use a seasonal block, remove it when the period ends. The guest-page and follow-up controls help you manage the placement, while you maintain the offer details.

Check the booking decision from start to finish
Test room selection and the display of cancellation terms. Confirm that the promoted dates are actually bookable.
Review enquiries that do not become bookings. Guests may need reassurance about local transport or available dining, rather than another price reduction.
Assess completed stays and the costs of delivering the offer. A booking into a quiet week can still be unsuitable if the package creates work you cannot support.
For questions about a setup in an older or divided property, contact Margovy about the layout. Do not assume the guest areas have identical coverage needs.
