The box
Where the box should sit
Plugged into a spare socket on your router, sitting where your customers are.
The box plugs into a spare socket on your broadband router with one cable, which goes into the port on the box marked 1. It then broadcasts its own guest Wi-Fi, the network your customers join, beside the Wi-Fi you already have.
It needs to sit where the customers are. The box is the guest Wi-Fi, so in a back room or a locked office it will not reach them. If the router is in the wrong place, a longer cable is the answer, not moving the router.
If you already have separate aerials or extenders of your own around the building, they stay exactly where they are. During setup we point them at the box’s network instead of your own, over the air, so they carry your page to every corner they already cover. No cable of yours is moved.
It needs a mains socket and one network cable. That is all. Your staff and business Wi-Fi, its password and the rest of your router settings are untouched. The one exception is your old guest Wi-Fi, which is switched off during setup.
Every venue gets the same box. Medium venues also get a Wi-Fi extender, and Large venues get two. Support tells you where each one should go.
