A customer asks to be removed

Open their page in Customers and choose Delete this customer’s details.

Under UK data protection law a person can ask you to delete what you hold about them, and you have to act on it. The law gives you a month, which is generous for something that takes a minute.

1

Go to Customers and open their page.

2

Under Privacy, choose Delete this customer’s details and confirm.

3

Their email address, name and mobile number are permanently removed, along with the answers they gave to any extra questions and the device they connected with. A deleted customer is never emailed or texted again.

Their consent record stays, with their name and email gone from it. A record of what somebody agreed to, and when, is the evidence that you handled them properly. It can no longer identify or contact them.

If a deletion starts and does not finish, the page says so and offers to start it again. Nothing is left half-done.

If they only want the messages to stop, that is easier and needs nothing from you. The unsubscribe link at the bottom of any message we have sent them works instantly.

If they ask what you hold about them, the same Privacy box has Send them everything we hold, which downloads one file with their details, their visits and their consent history.

A guest who writes to us instead of you is told to contact the venue directly. Our privacy page also gives them privacy@margovy.com, and anything that arrives there is passed to you rather than acted on for you.

If this did not solve it

Send us a message. Tell us the venue name and what you were doing when it went wrong, and a person will reply.
